This is what inspired me to study biology as an undergraduate and I’m sure it’s what has driven my lifelong interest in sustainable development and how we can live in concert with, rather than opposed to, nature’s principles.”
As a creative and a practical thinker, Hilary Samuel engages clients in a process of “catalyst-thinking”; harnessing insightful thinking to discover opportunities, questioning assumptions to solve problems at root cause and cultivating a solution-focused mindset throughout the organization.
Hilary is an expert in transformative learning and transitioning through change. As an Organizational Development Consultant, Hilary has crafted programs for change which operate at individual, team and organizational levels. She has taught on four continents and has worked with people from all walks of life and a diversity of cultures. She has worked with a wide variety of industries including high tech, manufacturing, service, finance and health as well as municipal and federal governments.
Hilary’s experience from within organizations allows her to understand the dynamics of transition and the conditions necessary for real change to occur. She was Director of Global Learning for Digital Opportunity Trust, working with young leaders in Africa and the Middle East to introduce sustainable livelihood projects within their communities. She has held internal consulting positions with the City of Ottawa as an Organizational Effectiveness Consultant and with Toronto General Hospital as a Management Training Consultant.
Hilary holds masters degrees in Human Systems Intervention (MA) and Adult Education (MEd). She is trained in Gestalt Therapy, as a NLP Practitioner and CCI Counsellor. She holds a BSc in Biology and a diploma in Fine Art. She is currently a member of the Algonquin College faculty teaching Leadership and Sustainability and Green Business Management.
